There was a time when a little light was shone upon geeks. They were even bullied or had experienced maltreatments basically because they are geeks — and it was not cool for the general mass. Fast forward to after several years, to now where many prominent geeks have built their strong ground and spotless reputation in the society; the time has come for the Revenge of the Nerds. Such as, in the world of entrepreneurship, numerous striking names of geeks have successfully glistened. Accomplishments of Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg only prove that geeks make great entrepreneurs. The reasons behind it will make you flutter for nerds. Here are the reasons why geeks are taking over the world of entrepreneurship.

Geeks are adventurous

take this

It could be because of their fondness for games, it could be not, but surely geeks always seek for adventures. Their wide imagination and teeming energy are contagious, and it is good for work. They are never scared to try something that hasn’t been done before. Why? Because they always come with new ways, new ideas, and killer plans that can resolve the issue.

Geeks are the best storytellers

Bard RPG

You may have noticed it too, once a geek tells a story, it’s impossible not to be attentive. They are educational and entertaining as panelists, industry columnists or as speakers. Geeks are passionate and they can verbalize their thoughts loud and clear. Watch a talk from Steve Jobs and you will feel and see his expertise about the matter. If you still couldn’t believe, try asking a geek about his recent project. You will notice how his eyes light up, and then voila — you will not even know you have been listening to what he’s saying for hours.

Talking about science and space technology? Geeks got you

Bro do you even science

Geeks are known to have ‘street cred’ in the science and space technology. When meeting a nerd, we can’t help but assume he knows a ton of stuff about this subject — because it’s true. Today’s business world encourages people to be different. They even say, the more different, the better. In a show called Scorpion which is based on the life of the genius Walter O’Brien (with a reported IQ of 197), they said great things can come from those who are uniquely abled, particularly when they work together.

Geeks know how to focus and specialize

Focus

The ability to focus and hone specialization are the most significant factors to be successful in any type of career. A great example is the brilliant writer and big data specialist Dr. Jeffrey Strickland. He is a diagnosed autistic with Asperger’s syndrome. However, his ability to focus made him a victor in the industry despite of his illness. Though this ability makes him less than responsive to his wife and his daughters at times, it helps him to be a brilliantly focused scientist and writer.

Geeks flock together

big bang theory

Having connections is a strong point if you want to be successful in the entrepreneurial world. Luckily for geeks, they connect well to other geeks, so they attract and find more people like them. You can notice this certainty in events like Comic Con. In fact, it is one of the fastest growing, sturdy, and stable phenomena in the US. Due to the increasing network of geeks, the business section for tech and entrepreneur add to the success of the industry. More and more aspiring entrepreneurial leader who are geeks excel in the field because they have advantageous qualities that make them outshine the rest.
